Snowbound Best New England Crime Stories 2017 includes 38 original tales from noir to cozy and everything in between. My contribution, Unstrung Quartet, leans toward the noir but with a sense of humor. You can find the anthology here  and elsewhere.

Short Stories and Work in Progress

Sometimes an idea is neat but not enough to sustain a whole book. The reader is always busy, but some days they have just a few minutes.

My first published short story, Nor Death Will Us Part, is included in Black Coffee, an anthology of mysteries noir. There are 22 other stories, something for every taste as long as your taste leans toward the dark. It's available as a paperback or ebook fromAmazon

My blog about short stories and a free read are up on The Write Room Blog

I'm fooling around with short stories and have begun a new series featuring a new heroine. Susan Randolph works for a criminal defense attorney who specializes in capital cases. Susan is older than Claire and has been around the block a few more times. Book #1, working title Two Weeks in Geary, was a Claymore Award finalist at this year's Killer Nashville. That award is based on the first 50 pages, which left a few more to write, but they're done, and I'm hoping it will be published in 2018. Meanwhile, I've started writing book #2.
