SHORT STORIES

Landfall Best New England Crime Stories 2018 includes 31 original crime stories set in New England or written by writers living in New England, including the 2018 Al Blanchard Award winner. I grew up in Connecticut, which doesn't count, but my story, Off the Beaten Path, is set in coastal Maine. Click on the cover for more information or to purchase the anthology.

Snowbound Best New England Crime Stories 2017 includes 38 original tales from noir to cozy and includes the 2017 Al Blanchard Award winner. My contribution, Unstrung Quartet, leans toward the noir but with a sense of humor. Click on the cover for more information or to purchase  the anthology.

My first published short story, Nor Death Will Us Part, is included in Black Coffee, an anthology of mysteries noir. There are 22 other stories, something for every taste as long as your taste leans toward the dark. Clicking on the cover will take you to its Amazon page.

The shortest of short stories are called flash fiction.  Cold Turkey, a 2018 Derringer finalist, is about a man in love who quits smoking and learns his best friend cannot be trusted. Trust Me is about a shift in power between criminals. Both were published by Flash Bang Mysteries, where you can always find quick - and free - crime stories.

A slightly longer and darker freebie, Family Man,  is archived on the Mystery Tribune Web Site.

I hope you enjoy reading the short stories. I enjoyed experimenting with new voices and different types of mystery.
